Having started in India researching the industry and getting a foothold exporting outdoor furniture to the United Kingdom James then moved to Bangkok in 1999 and joined a large manufacturing company, Maxialto Furniture Industries. James set up and managed factories in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ratchaburi, Rayong and the provinces surrounding Bangkok.

In 2005, with the dominance of the Thai furniture industry waning in the face of serious competition from China and Vietnam, James had to make a decision as to whether continue to expand in China and shut down operations in Thailand, meaning relocating to China, or refocus his furniture manufacturing and marketing skills on the local market.

In agreement with his wife that moving their 2 young children, both born in Thailand, to mainland China would not be in their best interests, they decided to stay and look at opportunities locally.

James now puts his vast manufacturing and marketing skills to good use in the booming property development market in Thailand.

Clive is an experienced International educator and former Head of ICT at the British International School in Phuket. Clive has recently established Reflex Education Solutions - an independent Phuket based Education solutions Company. Reflex Solutions offers open source web based software solutions for Education, which was presented to IBAP for program topic in February 2010.

Simone has been in Phuket on and off since 2000 and has become a familiar face to most of us because she gets involved, directly and hands-on. She has been instrumental in several aspects of promoting IBAP throughout Phuket and personal meetings with a great number of businesses. In addition to serving as Secretary Simone helps to develop IBAP Community Service projects at local schools, some of which have involved COMSERV participation by visiting U.S. Navy warship personnel.

Denny is a charter member of IBAP and became involved with the board at the first meeting. Working together with a small group of dedicated members Denny has continuously contributed to the development of IBAP. Some of his contributions include structuring our constitution, building our boards of directors, developing and chairing our Business Fairs, initiating our university student program, and developing this IBAP website, our database and email announcements. As a board member Denny has served four years as secretary, eight years as IT chair and is now in his third full-term as treasurer.

Outside Phuket Directory and IBAP Denny is a US Embassy Warden here in Phuket, member of the Phuket Chamber of Commerce, charter secretary of the Lions Club of Patong Beach and charter secretary of the Phuket Council of the Navy League of the United States.

Pinyo has been a long-time resident of Phuket and professionally serves as an administrator for AXA insurance. Pinyo is the incoming president of the Lions Club of Patong Beach and brings to IBAP a large network within the Thai and foreign community.

Olaf studied law in Germany at Christian-Albrechts University and in France at Jean Moulin University, passing the first state examination (Erstes Staatsexamen) in 1997, & the second second state examination (Zweites Staatsexamen) in 2000. Member of the Hamburg bar association (Rechtsanwaltskammer Hamburg). Working in Bangkok since 2001 for Lorenz & Partners, then McEvily & Collins Law Offices in Bangkok and Phuket until 2010. In 2004 and 2007 Olaf lectured at the summer law program of the Golden Gate University, San Francisco, Bangkok. In May 2010, Olaf co-founded the tax and legal advisory and services firm, Duensing Kippen.

Jaspal is another founding year member of IBAP going back 10 years. Jaspal is well-regarded in the Phuket business community in many industries that include tailoring, restaurants and hotels. He serves on the board of directors for other organizations and brings an extensive amount of experience and knowledge into the board room.

Rin has served as IBAP's monthly meeting venue coordiator through 4 locations and also for 3 Business Fairs held at Central Festival and Jungceylon. During our business fairs Rin coordinated much of the logistics, entertainment and pretty girl staffing. Additionally Rin was instrumental in developing a program introducing local university students to IBAP.
