Phuket's Powerful Women

June's Program

The June member meeting will be especially interesting as we hear from local author, and colorful character, Colin Mackay.

Mr Mackay shall give a historical presentation explaining why women on Phuket and Thailand are comparatively so successful and powerful in business, politics and as heads of their households in Phuket and the region. For example, Thailand has a higher percentage of Female CEO's than any other country and over half of all businesses in the country are owned by women.

Thereafter he will open the floor to any questions you may have about any aspects of the history of Phuket from any period.

He has agreed to offer IBAP members signed copies of his 438 page limited-edition hardback version of his book on the night at the trade price of THB 1,000 instead of their normal retail price of THB 1,500.

Mr Mackay will also present several interesting anecdotes that have revealed themselves since publication of his book. The presentation will be followed by a Question and Answer period.
